Reports & Media

Players reach staff through the report window, can send screenshots and short clips of their game with a report, and vote in server polls.

Player reports

For players

PLAINTEXT
/report                    opens the report window
/report <message>          sends a report straight away

The command name is Config.ReportCommand (report by default). The report window is the player’s chat with staff: they see whether staff are online, read answers, reply, take screenshots and record clips. Each player has one open report at a time, so new messages are added to it until it is closed.

  • A message can be up to 500 characters, and a player can send one message per second.
  • Staff answers show the staff member’s rank label, not their name.
  • When staff answer while the window is closed, or close the report, the player gets a notification.
  • The player can close their own report.

For staff

Reports are answered on the Reports page of the panel. Every staff member can answer reports; no permission is needed.

  • The first staff member who answers is shown as handling the report.
  • Open reports nobody has answered for 10 minutes are marked urgent and listed first.
  • Staff can send image and video links from cdn.discordapp.com, media.discordapp.net and i.imgur.com (png, jpg, jpeg, webp, gif, mp4, webm, mov).
  • With pma-voice started, staff can join a voice call with the player from the report. Several staff can join the same call, and it ends when the report is closed.
  • Staff get an in-game alert for new reports and new messages while the panel is closed. Each staff member turns these on or off and sets their volume in Settings → Alerts & sounds.

Reports are kept in memory, not in the database: a server or resource restart clears them. The last 200 closed reports are kept until then.

Set Config.Reports = false to turn reports off. The /report command is then not registered.

Screenshots and clips

From players

The report window has Screenshot and Record Clip buttons. Clips are up to Config.Media.MaxClipSeconds long (30 by default). While recording, the window steps aside so the player can keep playing. A pill at the top shows the time and how to stop: press F11 or run /report again. Players can change the key under Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM → Stop clip recording; the default is Config.Media.StopKey.

Everything a player takes is listed under Your media in the report window (the last 40). From there they pick a screenshot or clip to send with their report, or delete it. A player can take one screenshot or start one clip every 4 seconds.

From staff

In Players, Screenshot captures what the player sees on their screen right now. It needs the Spectate permission (player.spectate), and on another staff member a higher rank than theirs. Every staff screenshot is written to the action log.

Storage

LUA
Config.Media = {
    Enabled = true,
    Provider = 'server',
    KeepDays = 30,
    MaxClipSeconds = 30,
}

Files are uploaded to your game server and saved in a media folder inside the bablo-admin resource folder. No setup needed.

FileSize limit
Clip (.webm)16 MB
Clip thumbnail (.jpg)1 MB
Screenshot (.jpg)6 MB

KeepDays removes media older than that many days (checked every hour). 0 keeps everything. With server, the files are deleted from the media folder. With fivemanage, only the entry in the panel is removed, the file itself stays in your Fivemanage account.

Set Enabled = false to turn off player clips and screenshots and staff screenshots.

Polls

Staff with the Polls permission (polls.manage) start a poll from the Polls page.

SettingLimits
QuestionUp to 150 characters
Answers2 to 6, each up to 60 characters, no duplicates
Runs for1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes
  • Only one poll runs at a time. Staff can end it early.
  • When it starts, every player gets a card at the top of the screen. They open the poll with /poll (Config.Polls.Command) and pick an answer.
  • Players can change their vote until the poll ends. They see the results once they have voted, or when the poll ends.
  • One vote per player (by license).
  • Staff see the votes live. The last 20 ended polls are kept on the Polls page and can be deleted.
  • Votes are saved in the database, so a running poll survives a restart. A poll whose time ran out while the server was down is closed on start.
LUA
Config.Polls = {
    Enabled = true,
    Command = 'poll',
}

Set Enabled = false to turn polls off. The /poll command is then not registered and no poll can be started.
